    Nobody has mentioned AEV.

Are they as reputable as metalcloak?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like the best setup to build on.

Aev is over priced. Their products are good for daily drivers that see a little trail time now and then. There are just a lot of other options that aren't as expensive.

I really like OME especially on mild lifts and they make the best riding leaf springs.

Is ome geared more for street manners like the aev is? Or it geared more towards extreme off-road? I mean I'd like to try as intense a trail as I can do with 35 treps, and a budget.

Sounds like a fantastic Jeep 4x4 opportunity! Minor setback to an endeavor that has great potential. Could be a road trip destination since quality shops are not on every corner.

If you really want 35s on a budget, you can run 35s with flat fenders and wheels with no more than 4.5in backspace, or 1.5in spacers for factory wheels. No lift needed. You will likly rub upper fender well under full articulation, but many rigs do. You can install bumb stops to prevent this, or just let it rub when it happens. Next step would be a 2in spacer lift and flat fenders. . https://teraflex.com/shop/category?...ft+Kits&vehicle=JKU+Wrangler+Unlimited&page=1. You will not rub, but still need spacers or new wheels. The expensive better lifts that will take a punishment will come with Their own HD controlarms, trackbars etc. These will cost you at least $2000. But if you buy the right lift like this one you can add on to it as you have extra money or the need. . . https://teraflex.com/shop/category?...5"+Lift&vehicle=JKU+Wrangler+Unlimited&page=1 . I have a friend who runs a 2-2.5in lift and 37s with flat fenders and wheels. He wheels pretty hard, and he just bent his control arm and is upgrading to teraflex HD control arms from the 3in lift. this will push his axle out about 1 inch (a bonus) and give him the strength. a while back he bent his tie rod and up graded to HD steering. His philosophy is upgrade as it breaks.

I can vouch for this as I’ve been in his Jeep both on road and off, desert running and rock crawling. It is incredible how well his lift rides. I’ve been in a lot of other JKU’s from stock to budget boost to the AEV 4.5” mentioned in this thread. The coilovers are in a different league completely. I highly recommend looking into it.

What the!? Um yes I can swing that.

In fact I called to order but was told I would need an additional $4500 to properly convert my jeep to coilover and the $1750 price tag is only for the front, even tho the ad states front and rear kit. So it's actually $1750 x 2. Plus I would need control arms and all that stuff.

Man I wish 6k was my budget :/

Yes, originally I was going with that.

But could squeeze the pocket a bit higher for something more complete.

Like a complete package where I wouldn't have to add anything to but could if I wanted to.

But now you got me thinking of the 2.5 again haha. Ugh. I hate shopping period.

I have posted this before, but here is my buddy's rig. 2.5in lift with 40s and 3in lift control arms. I will add that he has Tera 60s.

Hey brother quick question rusty I can't seem to get an answer for.

Can a 0-4" coilover conversion be installed without any other mods where i can run at 2.5" with stock control arms and trackbars?

Then later increase the height when im ready to add the control arms and trackbars?

That's a purdy jeep. How well does it flex? Doesn't seem like it would have much articulation.

I have a buddy with one that looks similar. LCG but his coilover go up into the body. The rear coilovers are literally in the cargo area.

    Here's a vid he's got a Hellcat engine swap..

This Jeep is designed for Moab. It has amazing drop which equals to great articulation. It has bumpstops allowing the axle to come up 3 inches, but it runs 6in lift shocks allowing the axle to drop into hell. . . I mean hells revenge. . . Maintaining contact with all for tires. If the left front starts rising and the back right starts compressing the opposite tires have a lot of travel down. It flexes better than mine. I also run 6 in shocks but I have much less drop and have to set my bump stops at 5 in to keep from smashing tires into fenders. I have better break over clearance though with my extra lift. Again tit for tat.
