    engine swap as well as the entire drivetrain, 35 inch tires, home made swing away tire carrier, warn winch and SPOA.
    What a nice CJ-7, congratulations!!

    I'm like JK57 cj5 I can't wait to post a pic of mine . I've got a question have anyone used yj springs on their cj . Also has anyone did a shackle reversal and wht do you think about the reversal . Are you pleased with it , think it should be done the way it is with shackles on front . Thanks for any info or tips . This is my first build mine will mostly be a WE cruiser. There on gonna be times I want to sling a lil mud after all it is a Jeep . It will be me mechanically sound when done . Yeah if any of you guys have any info on question lmk thanks .

    After watching just how a shackle reversal works, I would not install one on my CJ. The Korean war military jeeps had them and nobody used them after that.

    Ok thanks for info , I dont think I'm going that way . I do want to use yj springs instead of regular springs .

    The front YJ spring is the same length and width as the rear springs on a CJ, although they are softer with less lift. Rubicon Express makes an adapter to install them on the front of a CJ:https://www.quadratec.com/products/16311_561X_A_PG.htm It includes a fixture to allow a longer and wider spring to be used plus wider spring pads and u-bolts to replace the narrower ones on the CJ.
    The CJ front springs are one inch shorter and a 1/4" narrower than a YJ. Personally, I would opt for a high lift aftermarket spring, Currently I use a custom built 5" front spring made by Alcan. It does have the CJ length and width. Another thing to consider is that the CJ front spring shackle hangers are prone to breaking especially with a high lift spring. Along with that a well used CJ frame used for off road fun is prone to cracking, so watch out for that.

    Working on the stereo for my military tribute CJ build...

    Little more tinkering with the stereo tonight. Working on the speakers. I've been a user of JL products for a while now, and the entire system in my Marauder save the head unit, is JL audio, but decided to try something new for the CJ7. I found an audio shop in Indy where the guy will bargain with you pretty good, and hoping it's not factory seconds, picked up a set of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5" components, and the 3" midrange that can go with to make it a 3 way system. The sub is still gonna be a JL Audio. I need their shallow mount one to fit in my fake radio enclosure.

    Build quality looks to be very good, and all the reviews I've read, and videos I've seen say they are, so we'll see...

    Now, where to put them in a military looking CJ. The tweeters, like all tweeters are small, so I'm not really worried about them. The midrange speakers, I have a plan for. The mid bass are a bit big for that same plan, but I may be able to custom duplicate something along the same lines that will keep them from looking out of place. In the meantime... the mids... something I can do right now. To go with my Look-alike military radio sub enclosure... I have several military radio LS-454/U loudspeakers. These are the ones that were mounted in military vehicles for us to listen to the radio with when we weren't using a CVC helmet.

    Lots of mods, but they were already in place. MY mods are REPAIRS!
    Thanks to one of the previous owners, my CJ7 dash was garfed up pretty badly. Instead of removing the speaker skeletons from the back, they just cut, hacked, bent, and sawed everything out of their way. As you can see, ditto on the radio hole too. I opted for a stainless steel replacement. People are always saying, "Oh my god--stainless steel?! That's going to eat your hole saw alive! You can't drill through that shit! You'll never get a clean cut!" Yada, yada, yada. Well, even I was surprised when the new Lennox hole saw didn't even have so much as a shiny spot on any of the teeth after cutting the two holes! Putting the drill press on its slowest speed and using cutting oil made the job a walk in the park. Maybe it was largely due to me worrying about ruining the new dash...
