Pulled into the parking lot here at the shop and it broke, didn't bump a curb or anything. I am wondering if it was already stressed already and the incline into the shop parking lot was enough that it let go. Super lucky it didn't happen going down the road. I would not be posting here if it had.

I would be very grateful if my steering parts decided to breakdown in the parking lot too but some warning would have been nice. Good time for some upgraded steering components.

The crazy part is it was all new MOOG tie rod ends and an HD Tie Rod. An entire new setup that should not ever break is on the way. lol

I actually have the Dirt Bound Offroad setup ordered. Anxiously waiting its arrival so I can drive my Jeep without the terrible OEM steering on it. Wish I had the money for the whole Teraflex kit though.

I upgraded steering about 3 weeks ago. Went with Currie extreme duty. Trackbar draglink and tie rod. The steering changed how the vehicle drives. It’s night and day.80685066-46EA-447A-A199-98D12126904D.jpg

Is your drag link flipped? Mine has been flipped. You need a special tool if you’re flipping it.

Get it aligned unless you are good with a tape measure!

Got a new set of shoes for the 87, they are Yokohama MT003 in 315/75R16 and are relatively new on the market. Figured I would give them a shot, so far I am quite happy.

Sounds weird, but the new tire smell is awesome as well. Brings me back to the days of burning off tires in my 84 Z28. Should not have gotten rid of that car haha

    Thanks

Installed shocks and connected the steering on the project XJ. Should just need battery, cables, and front driveshaft installed to be on the road. :taco:

On the DD XJ the A/C would only blow out of the defrost vents, it's hard to cool the Jeep when you are trying to cool a hot windshield. This is typically a symptom of a vacuum leak, but none could be found. For a while now I have had to turn the vent selector knob real slow if it was in defrost or it wouldn't change so I had a feeling it was the selector switch. Pulled one out of the parts XJ and boom, ice cold A/C blowing right in my face. Good thing too since it's supposed to be ≈105° later this week.
Glad I have a parts XJ, hate the circumstances that caused me to have a parts XJ but it saved me again.
