Yes exactly. The smaller the backspacing number the further the wheel will push out from the fender. I've always been wary of wheel spacers. I've heard good things and bad. Like mentioned above, save your money and buy wheels that already have the spacing could possibly save you time and money later on down the road

So looked at the Mickey T's again and the back spacing in the description says 4.5 so tire should stick out 1.75 more than it is now with my stock rims correct?

And you don't need wheel spacers.....

So, got this quote from the shop. They are definitely not budging on the $120 labor change because the price on rims are under Msrp since I’m price matching.

$800 for the 5x rims and $43 for lugs but was hoping to stay under $1,000 but there are a couple extra stuff in there I didn’t know was going to get charged.

What is the $25 n $35 charges and do I need those? And do I need them for even the spare?

My take on the quote is they are upcharging for stick-on weights per tire and they are probably transferring the OEM TPMS sensors to the new wheels. Not contesting the charges but I would get a competing quote. My last transaction (tires+bal+wheels) with tire rack or discount tire went pretty smooth shipped to my house with no surprises when matched with the online invoice. Check to see if discount tire charges $24 x 5 for labor to mount+balance.

Thanks Aggrex, appreciate the help from all of you in here.

Have a quote request out to Discount Tires. Will see what they say. Also think I'm going to ask pepboys. Friend told me they beat any competitor price, not just match it.

So maybe I'll just get the rims from 4wheelparts and install them at one of the others.

Should I ship the rims to 4wheel parts store and pick up in person in case there are any issues with them? Or am I ok sending them straight to my house? Basically how hard would it be to get a fix if something isn't right with 4wheelparts? Only thing I've ever done through them before was swapping out a soft top on my old jeep and nothing ever happened to it.

    Ugh!!!!

So Discount Tire came back with a quote for $250($50 a tire lol) to swap it out.

Pep-boys came back with $5 to dismount + $16.99 to remount & balance($21.99) per tire! Except they will only change sticker tires at the store and will not change used tires! Ugh!!!!!!!!!

And sears just told me same thing. They’ll only swap out sticker tires!

So 4wheelparts can really charge me whatever they want knowing no other shop will swap out used tires! Ugh!!!!

Well now you're now an informed consumer. Quality installation at the better shop goes a long way.

So...... Went ahead and scheduled to swap my tires out with 4wheelparts on 10/22.

Asked him if the existing TPMS can be swapped from my stock wheels to the new ones and they said yes they do that. Then when I asked about the quote being $35 less(removing the TPMS charge) he said that charge is for new valve stems. I said the lug nuts set I'm also purchasing in black come with valve stems. They then responded saying those are basic and that I needed different ones(and they could show me the difference when I arrived there). I asked for the specific one I needed to see if I can find cheaper elsewhere. It's PXA 21131 Pro comp valve stem high pressure snap in TPMS. I found on Amazon but it $56 there! Ugh. Any other alternatives to this I can use or anywhere that would sell these cheaper???

If your going to use your old tires on the new wheels I think the charges reflect the work being performed. Don't sweat the small charges. Everyone's situation is different but when my time comes for new wheels I want my tires+wheels mounted/road force balanced, shipped to my home ready-to-install.

Lol @shipped to your house balanced and ready to install.

I know, I'm not sweating the charge and will pay it even if I can't find cheaper elsewhere. I just hate overpaying for something sometimes and am also trying to limit the damage if my wife ever finds out how much I'm actually spending on this. Lol!

I got rid of my tpms sensors. I know how to check my tire pressure. If you get a super chips flashcal you can turn off your tpms and never have to deal with them again

Quadratec and I believe a couple other companies do this. They will mount, balance with new tpms. Tires and wheels. Usually certain brands and models. And ship them to where ever you want.

Will the tire pressure still be displayed in the EVIC?

@chris4x4 No sir. It turns the light off and everything. It completely disables the system so theres no annoying lights on the dash. Pretty amazing

That kinda sucks for me. I like the pressures of each tire displayed. Makes things easy.

Some jeepers change the tpms parameters to match their needs for example airing down won't trigger warning lights
