Long repair, fake orders, insurance confusion, seeking advice.

A 2x4 on the road when though my grill and punctured my radiator. It’s been at the body shop for over 30 days and a radiator for a 2023 compass is not in production. Body shop was creating fake orders and we kept telling our insurance company that we have called Jeep and the manufacturer and they are not making this part yet. Now my rental is due back because 30 days is what my policy covered. My insurance company just realized the body shop was not being truthful. If they can’t fix my car it should be totaled out, but my insurance found something in the policy that they can just pay me for how much parts should cost and give me my nonfunctional car back. I know I can’t be the only one that has had this issue. Any tips or stories?

For a ‘23 I’d would have taken the vehicle back to a Jeep dealer. But since you’re in this body shop conundrum check out this aftermarket radiator for a ‘22 Compass. There’s a chance it may work until the correct radiator is available.
