Got the lights working, rebuilt the carburetor and installed the duel exhaust. Started cleaning the engine. Next up in installing the correct radiator (it’s on order). 839854F0-953A-4026-8E0E-14694CA92688.jpg A384FA20-11AA-43C3-972D-F0A414F220D3.jpg 957BD789-8FDD-4271-A091-A2E2AF04AAC3.jpg 839854F0-953A-4026-8E0E-14694CA92688.jpg

I was looking on the fire wall and saw this. It’s broken and does not prevent the engine from starting. Does anyone know what it was for? I am thinking it was left over from the original engine set up. 6BA4CB38-7E1B-4F33-A9B6-B0D628F77C84.jpg

That looks like a ceramic terminal block. If the ceramic is broke where there is no connection terminals you might be able to epoxy it back together or buy a new one.

Nice job @TxCj5 ! Great project and nice clean shop. I’m kind of old school, and need an orderly environment to work on vehicles. Your garage looks like one of those places. Keep the updates coming.

Just curious @TxCj5 - is that how these vehicles were designed, without a rear tailgate that could be lowered? I’ve seen some with tailgates and some without. Was this an option?

As I understand it, the tailgate was optional.

Interesting - that brings basic to a whole new level! It’s too bad there is no market for inexpensive basic vehicles anymore. A bygone era.
