My name is Dave. I live in Massachusetts. I am both retired Army (Medical field, Xray & IT) and retired civilian. I own a 2017 Jeep Compass High Latitude. Bought used from a Jeep dealer as a "Preferred Used Vehicle" with less that 30,000 miles. Now has a little over 51,500 after about 3 yrs.

Among other "issues", the one that happened this morning boggles the mind.

Key in the ignition, foot on the brake, car in PARK. Turned key, car turns over well and strong. Didn't start. Let go of the key, car continued to turnover until I turned key "OFF'. Did this about 3 times. I said a few choice words, went into the house, called AAA for a tow and my mechanic.

Tow drive arrives, show him what was happening, damned if the car did start.......of course it did. Tried it 2 more times, worked flawlessly.

Anyone have any ideas what was going on???
