My eyes are going crossed looking for an answer about BCM flashing.

I have been told by a normally reliable source that the BCM in my 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited with RKE does not need to be flashed or programmed as long as it's replaced with an identical part number BCM. Can anyone verify or debunk this?

It sounds counterintuitive to me but the source of information programed some fobs for it last year with a DRBll. He told me in 96 they (BCMs) were "permanently internally programed" by part number just plug it in pray I didn't buy a turd.

    Thanks all
