Howell fuel injection, header, HEI distributor, TH350, NP208, SOA lift with YJ springs in the front & GW springs in the Rear. AMC20 with G2 1 piece chromos trussed, Dana 30 with G2 chromos and 760x ujoints and MM Stainless Hubs, Geared 4.56. Tom Woods shafts, Metal cloaks, Caged, 37" Toyo MTs.
MCU? Do you mean the Ignition control module (ICM). If you do a HEI distributor installation you should bypass this. On my CJ I took out the ICM and ran a switched hot to the coil on the distributor. So if we are talking about the same things I believe he did do a HEI installation and I believe he removed both. Send him a PM.

On my 89 YJ the MCU is located under the dash on the passenger side above the heater housing bolted to the firewall and the ICM is located on the inner fender well under the coolant reservoir. In his pics I can see his removal of the MCU and it’s wiring harness but no definitive pic showing the ICM removed but in the postings it is alluded to so I just wanted to be sure. I have already done the HEI but still have both cpu units in the wiring harness. I want to totally eliminate both cpu’s From the system even if it requires doing a simple switch and push button starting system such as in military and some diesel applications

You should be able to remove the icm and the ecm. I know that was his goal. Where did you get your switched hot that serves the coil? I pulled mine from the one that fed the icm and took it straight over to the coil. That is really the only wire you need to run the engine.

Sorry it's been so long but had a few surgeries to recover from and got side tracked, back at it and have eliminated both the MCU and the ICM from the system and am in process of complete simplification of the wiring, if that is even possible in terms of wiring! Will try and post a complete start to finish with some pics as this goes forward all be it a slow process!!!!
