I'm wondering if anyone has installed this system before? If so, where did you run the hot wire from the fuse box/engine light? It can't have power when the engine is off. Thanks for any feedback

Are you installing it on the 79 CJ-5? Any switched hot should work.

Yes a 79 cj5. Okay, I wasn't sure if it should be a certain one. How about the coolant sensor: can I splice in the old temperature sensor? Ok hade to take it out to put in the CTO. Thanks

Are you running the 258 or the 304? I cant remember, but Doesn't Howell come with its own Temp sending unit? I believe that I left my old one in place for my gauge, and inserted the new one for the computer. I can't remember, but I think I put the new one driver side of block under the exhaust manifold to the rear of the block.

258, there were two ports on the block. One for the CTO valve and the other one for the computer. As of right now my stock one is disconnected. I really would like to figure out how to hook the original up so I can keep an eve on my temperature. Thank you for your info.

I did not use the CTO valve. I ran one vacuum off the tbi plate to the distributor and one to the pcv which T'd off with the brake booster. I removed all the egr and canister stuff. Plugged the space on the bottom of the intake and installed a header. I don't think you can do this legally in Cali. Don't know where you live.

That port sensor off the block that goes to the computer, isn't that for the computer temp sensor. Your original one goes to your temp gauge inside.
