Does anyone know if they make different sizes in the door hinge nuts? I got me some motorcycle mirrors for going doorless and they work great in the wind at high speeds but the thread barely sticks out the bottom of the hinge. I was hoping the door nut would work but I need one a tad bigger.

I'm guessing you mean longer. Check a local hardware store. They carry all sorts of sizes of fasteners

The thread on the mirror is a tad bigger. Just wondering if they make a bigger hinge nut or is that just a Jeep thing?

Take the mirror to any hardware store. They have sizing tools to measure the size and thread count so that you can then choose the correct nut for the job.

Great idea to repurpose a set of motorcycle mirrors. Another idea is to modify the "bend" in the metal to extend the threads deeper into the hinge. Some hardware stores may have a threaded extension if its a common size.

Didn't know that was a option, I'll check into that. Thanks

You might be able to size it to the OEM nut using a tap. You can get a Tap & Die set at Harbor Freight for a fair price.

Well guys I got my mirrors fixed up. Went to a machine shop and the guy there grinded the stem down, bout a quarter inch, where the washer stopped so I could move the washer up. Just gotta sand em and paint em and they'll be good to go.
