Performing brake service to a 2018 Cherokee including rotor and pad replacement. I did put the parking brake in service mode and, before removing the calipers, noticed that the caliper pistons did retract. My issue is, with the new pads installed into the bracket, there is not enough clearance to fit the caliper over the new rotor. The caliper piston did retract but, evidently, not fully. Can I compress the piston with a caliper piston compressing tool or do I need to turn and push the piston into its bore? Or...is there a different method of accomplishing more clearance? Thanks!

I'm gonna answer my own question! Out of curiosity, I tried compressing the piston...gently an it worked just like a conventional caliper piston. So, I'm sharing this in the event it can help someone else. Now, on to those motor mounts...
