Clutch Wearing/worn out?

    Other than larger tires, all stock
    HI there, I have a 95 Wrangler Sahara 4.0l Stick. Just bought this vehicle a few days ago, so new to me. NOT my first stick nor wrangler but haven't had one since 2003 so BACK in the Wrangler family again!

    Before I spend a bunch of $$ ona shop, I thought I would ask here...

    First off, clutch is very low to the floor, just a little up and it grabs, so it's a really "hard" clutch. My 91 was a long throw so that's different fo rme. First and second shift just fine, 3rd grinds almost every time, even with the clutch all the way to the floor.. sometimes on rare occasions, if I don't wind 2nd out very much, it will grind only slightly pushing into 3rd. If I jump for 2nd to 4th, no grinding.

    It sounds like your clutch is gonna go out.

    Sounds more like either the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder have a problem but you could try to bleed the system and see what happens. Check first and see if there are any obvious leaks. If I recall correctly, that entire system is one piece and not very expensive.
