Hi all - after a lengthy (2 week) search and questioning why a continuous monitor would not be ready, I stumbled upon this helpful guidance doc from NJDEP. Posting it here in hopes it saves somebody else some time. The dealer didn’t know what I was talking about until I showed it to him. In short, my jeep failed NJ inspections (emissions) for “Fuel System Not Ready”. After completing 2 drive cycles it was still reading not ready on my pocketscan. MVC and Mechanic told me to keep driving. Jeep wanted to rework the fuel system. Turns out it needs its software flashed. Good luck all.

I usually don’t reply in forums but this one until now deserves because in here i found a little of hope to resolve my problems , I’m having the same problem since January when a bought my jeep I didn’t pass in 8 inspections until now, readings this post i found that some dealers do the reset but I can’t make the appointment in any near me in bayone, route 22, jersey, all they tell they don’t will deal with the car because of the year, or because they are booked, or because I didn’t buy the car in there. so i see in the forum that they do the service in Fullerton NJ 45 min from where i live, toke my compass 2014 to Fullerton, NJ and by the recipe they made the PCM and TCM re-flash, they recommended to drive 1000 miles before go again in the DMV.
