Figure I would post this up for anyone who wanted to protect their lower control arm mounts from rocks. You can buy these at reasonable prices every where, but if your like me and enjoy fabbing your own stuff here ya go. Had my front D30 out this summer so I could re-gear it and install my OX locker. While it was out figured it was a good time to skid my control arm mounts.

I used 3/16 scrap steel and cut it to shape and then shaped it up on a piece of railroad track I have just for stuff like this. I also cut the side pieces out of 3/16 scrap also.

I then cleaned it all up and welded the side pieces on.

Then I tacked the skid onto the CA mount.

Then welded the skid in solid to axle. This is a very simple mod and if you play on rocks worth every second of time to do it. My mounts were beat up pretty good, but not no more.I cleaned up the mounts and I welded cam eliminators into my mounts and got rid of those ridiculous cam washers. I have pictures of that also if anyone is interested I can put them up.

I painted all bare metal with por15 and a top coat. But did not get a picture of it painted.lol
