Hello everyone, I'm about to pull what little hair I have left out. My 2014 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited went dead had it towed today. It all started with service engine light then the traction control followed by loss of power especially when I went in highway or got above 50mph. I replaced the camshaft position sensor bank and bank 2 like the code read but same thing happened and finally today it blew a cloud of black smoke for a second and lost all power and died on me. Would finally start but cutting out and the smell of rich fuel. The code which I'll have to find again, my damn phone broke too so said camshaft position sensor bank 2 again and I've looked everywhere replaced bank 1 and bank 2 so I thought but I'm thinking it's an O2 sensor. I just dont want to take it to a dealership and get ripped off, its happened before and I dont want to replace several things that dont need to be replaced. I'll post all the codes shortly when I get back home but I'm probably gonna buy an O2 sensor and replace it anyways. I've seen quite a few post the same issue but never saw what fixed it. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm a single mom and my silver bullet is my daily driver and my baby. Thank you so much in advance.

I'm not sure if is the same problem I had, but let me tell you about my issue. I have a 2013 Unlimited Sport which had 41000 miles on it when I bought it about 2 years ago. Wright after I bought it I towed a small boat to Las Vegas. During the trip when ever I went over 3000 rpms I would get a fault code and the motor would not accelerate. I would stop and clear the code and proceed on my way. I had to do this probably 20 to 30 times the whole trip. After I got home I did a little investigating on line and consulted several mechanics. One mechanic indicated that the camshaft positioners will trigger a fault code when the oil film get thin at high rpms. His cure was to use 10w 30 oil and a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer. I use synthetic oil and synthetic stabilizer and a synthetic oil filter. I did a test right after, and ran the motor on a steep hill over 4000 rpms for about 10 minutes. I've never had the problem again. Good Luck, John
