Bought a used 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and it came with one key fob (keyless start). Bought two mopar key fobs and the dealer can't program either one of them. Said they need the jeep for two days to diagnose the problem. Service manager said they have this problem all the time but couldn't give me any indication what the issue might be. Said there is many sensors and it could be any one of them. No guesstament of cost to fix. Anybody have experience with this issue?

For everyone's edification, I had a local car shop try and program the key fob. Before I visited them I remembered my jeep had a dash message indicating the battery was almost dead in our original key fob. I got extra batteries and took them with me thinking that the new key fob battery was dead. We opened the new key fob that the dealer couldn't program and low and behold, no battery inside. Evidently Mopar ships the new key fobs with no batteries. Hope this helps someone in the future.
