P or LT tires?

    06 Wrangler Sport
    Hello all. Total Newb here. Recently acquired an 06 Wrangler TJ Sport that needs tires.
    The Jeep is totally stock. Has anyone used a "P" type tire? This Jeep will never see anything more rugged than a gravel parking lot. Maybe an occasional beach ride.
    I have been told that the weaker sidewalls of a P tire would cause a "squishiness" in handling.
    Any thoughts?
