Hello everyone. I have a 2010 Jeep JK Unlimited Islander. Recently we have run into an issue that I can't figure out. Every time You shift from park to drive, and start moving, it gets a feeling of dragging for a moment, and then it stops. When you are driving it, every thing is fine. Stopping at lights and stop signs doesn't cause it again. Only when you shift out of park. Does anybody have any idea on what's going on?

above is a good fast easy check....

lets try this - park facing down hill, a driveway grade. idea is to cool brake assy we want for it to cool; Get in vehicle press brake shift to N then release brake - ideally it should start rolling.

My thinking is the caliper 'slider' pins or are dry and binding or a caliper is seizing....
Let us know - maybe a visual of each brake assy will show a problem area....

Welcome! Get the brakes inspected by the shop unless your handy to perform the task. Lubing the caliper pins as mentioned by @Awrench could fix the problem unless the calipers are frozen and dragging.

I have this same issue. Changed all the brake rotors, calipers and pads. Serviced the parking brake also. Still have a wheel speed sensor to do but don’t think it would cause the dragging. Jeep has 23,000 miles on it. Did u ever figure it out?
