Hello from Western PA

Hello Everyone,

I'm a little out of order, posting my introduction after my first question.
We are going to pick up our new 2023 Rubicon 4 door on July 1st. This will be my wife's winter daily driver but I'm sure it will see a lot of driving in the summer as well. I'll post pics once we pick it up.

It doesn't have side steps, any recommendations? We are getting older and I have a prosthetic leg so side steps are necessary but I want to get sturdy units that go with the capability and look of a Rubicon.

Thank you. I hadn't considered them I wonder how well they hold up over time?

 

RC is just one of the brands with powered side steps. Other than avoiding physical damage on the trails the better warranty may be your guide for the electronics and mechanisms.

 

Updates: Here are the side steps I went with for our Jeep.


I very seriously considered the retractable steps as recommended by @aggrex but this is my wife's winter vehicle so I was concerned about longevity and that they would hold salt and moisture against the rocker panel. I also have a leg amputation and needed a full step, front to back so I could insure I'd have a solid step depending on where I needed to position my foot.

I went with the Gatorback mudflaps which are very pricey and a PITA to put on but I'm impressed with them. When I bought them, they didn't offer them for the 23 Rubicon so I bought the 22 flaps and had to fab some hardware to install the rear ones.
