What is the maximum tire and wheel that I can put on my stock YJ? I am thinking about replacing the stock wheels and tires but don’t know if I can use a later model wheel and tire.

just kidding, but tire sizes keep getting bigger!
The Jeep Magneto 3.0 at Moab this year was running 40s, which seemed a bit out of scale imho.
I’m a big fan of modest lifts ~2” and 33” myself. Just because something is possible doesn’t mean it’s a necessarily a good idea.

I guess it would depend on the lift to some extent. I’m running 33’s with a 2.5 lift. I know someone that has 35’s but I think the 33’s look and drive better.

Besides driveabilty, which I agree is important, my wife needs to be able to get in and out of my Jeep and 2” with 33” is optimal for her. Happy wife=happy life!
