So we finally decided to put a transmission dipstick into the transmission and it was bone dry. We added 4 quarts, as asked by the uncle, and we got no luck... No more grinding in reverse, neutral, or drive but there is a grinding in park. My uncle says it isn't enough transmission fluid to get it moving and to buy a couple more quarts to add in and try again ...

you are grinding on park because your transmision is turning, since you went into drive or reverse first. when you put it into gear have someone look underneeth your front output from transfer case is turning. transfercase needs both drive shaft not like older model you cant take it off. if you put your driveshaft back on you will see everything will move and work. i tried to take off my self while i waited for new drive shaft part wanted to drive without it. same as you put it back on everything worked. so fix you driveshaft

The driveshaft never spinned when I had it in and the problem first occurred. I still have the drive shaft if I need to put it back in and verify that. But the driveshaft wasn't spinning it all

Good call, looks here as if the front drive shaft is broken on the CV end...

Turned out to be the drive shaft if I'm not mistaken.
