    The 3.8 engine performance how does it compare to the 4.0 L never driven the jk but am familiar with the TJ with 5 Spd as well as the xj with aw4 auto.

    It would be interesting to lay the Jeep 225 V6 curves on that. With its peak torque of 230-240 ft lbs at about 2400 rpm, it has apparently even more low end than the 4.0. From my seat time in my CJ 5, I have always thought it was probably the best CJ engine ever, most especially in a 3000 lb early CJ. With a 4bbl and headers, it has about the same top speed as the 3.6 in the unlimited but it will actually still run in the rocks at off idle.
