I just received my newly built 401, 407 CID, and are excited about putting her in my 79 CJ5. It has 437.3 HP@ 5800 RPM and 497.1 Torque@3700 RPM. The current motor that is in it is a rebuilt 360, but I just wanted a little more power for the swamps here in Florida. The Jeep is mainly used for going back and forth to my hunting stands and back roads in the country. It has a T18 granny low, Dana 20, 30/20 combo with 4:56 gears and 36" swampers. I am changing the axles out also to D60/14 bolt combo with 5:38 gears with 40-44 tires and a different suspension in the future. I am in the process of rebuilding them now.

5.7 V8 with Whipple Supercharger, TH350 w/B&M Shifter, NP205 TC, Dana 60 front 4.56, GM 14 bolt 10.5 rear 4.56, 4 wheel discs, Bilstein shocks, 6" lift on 37's, Autometer gauges, all led lighting and a few other things.
That'll make her move. Be a real beast with the axle swaps and 40/44's.
    Looking forward to build photos.

Thanks! I am hoping it will be worth it. I have always had Chevy BB/SB and Chrysler BB/SB power plants in my project CJ’s, this is going to be different. At least with this motor I won’t need racing fuel for a change and with the prices of fuel I am glad! Lol
