My jeep LCD uconnect touch screen is frozen...I can only access some of the application using the speech function, even then I cant access my climate and climate control due to the fact that touch screen is not responding.....

I tried doing a factory reset and when I get to the final step which prompts you to enter YES or NO I cant execute it..

Is their another way to fix this issue or is my radio system is not good?......By the way the radio works, Nav works only on voice comment, not by using the touch screen commend

I was thinking of disconnecting the battery for few minutes to see if the radio system resets,,,

    please provide any feedback..

    Thanks

Goodmorning 02. Welcome. Did you check out the owners manual? Sometimes they are a little help. Don't know about the battery cable, could work. Try and let us know. Again, welcome.

Welcome American02! Try the battery disconnect. It might work like booting your pc otherwise it doesn't hurt to try.

Take the cartridge out, blow in it, reinsert cartridge...... It worked on Nintendos.. :notsure:

As suggested try disconnecting the battery, you might even touch the positive and negative battery cables together. I have personally seen 2 JKs that would not start, jump start, pull/push start, swap batteries...NOTHING... touch the cables together to clear the computer and they start right up.
It is worth a shot for this too..
Now the engine may not run quite as well as the computer will have to relearn some parameters.

o2, called the Mopar dealership & talked to the service manager. Sounds like they are having a s#$t load of problems with uconnect. He said you could try a reset- unhook both battery cables, take out battery fuse, wait 5 min. and reattach cables & reinstall fuse.
Good luck--- maybe next, sacrifice a goat by the full moon???

    Welcome to the forum Americian02.

Some great advice already given. I'm all for disconnecting battery. But based on what @ziggy researched. It may not work. So I'd have to go with the sacrificing the goat thing. But then again......@Prerunner1982 may be on to some thing. o_O

@JKBob 25, did you ever figure out how to resolve your uconnect issue? Mine is doing the same. Frozen on my screen. Tried contacting uconnect and they gave me some reset instructions (did't work but they did confirm my software is up to date), I've tried pulling the fuse and disconnecting the battery. Nothing. I'm trying all options before I take it into the dealer! It's out of warranty (2010) and NOT fun to drive to the beach with no radio!

Press in and hold your volume and tuner button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the screen shuts down. Fixed my frozen Bluetooth. Just a soft reset. I know this is old but comes up on google searches and hopefully it will help someone else.

Welcome @Lissaloo . Always good to share tips that have worked for you as today's vehicles have a ton of integrated electronics for every simple task making repairs difficult.

Thanks, Lissaloo! On a 10 hour road trip and console froze. Soft reset holding volume and tunner until screen went blank and reloaded worked! Thank God! Easy peasy. Thanks again!

2010 Jeep Laredo - Uconnect screen Blackout
Please Help!!!! My screen went black and not even a little fuzzy screen. Completely Blacked out!
I have a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (with no more warranty)
I tried disconnecting (-) from the battery and waiting 1 hour and then nothing.
I tried the (+) from the battery and then nothing again. I don't feel disconnecting the fuse for the radio will do much.
Any other ideas, I have a weekend road trip and it would be nice to hear some music.

Many thanks for any advise! Best, Jenny :fingerscrossed:

I hope you get a response on this. Same thing happened to mine, 2014 grand Cherokee. Very annoyed. Recently did a software update, now it doesn't work at all. No temp controls either. Dealer says connor is locked up and needs to be replaced. Part alone is $1800!

I have a 2018 Jeep Compass Latitude with a UConnect 3 system. The screen is frozen. Neither a soft boot - holding the volume & tuner down for 20 seconds or a hard boot, disconnecting the battery, worked. I have 34k mileage but just passed the three year warrant :(

Oh where to start. Bought my 2018 Jeep Compass new from the dealership with 23 miles on it. Shortly after purchase it started having problems with the radio screen/control panel. I'll make it short but it melted down before they could get a recall out. After replacing it twice (second time was the wrong model), replacing master battery twice and two auxiliary batteries, one antenna, having it in for misc. issues like the back window going up and down by itself, door seals needing replacing as the car would drive with the door open or say the door was open when it wasn't, having a "coil" replaced as the whole car felt like it was shuddering when it shifted, I am STILL having issues with my screen freezing and losing all function on it. I can use dials but nothing on the screen. I'm tired of doing reboots, and dealership visits, video taping the frozen screen, not having the backup camera work. It took my dealership talking with siriusxm's engineer, then talking to the head of Chrysler engineering to get it "fixed" the first time after all the crap and replacements. Does JEEP have any suggestions other than I got a lemon and can't afford to pay offset mileage so I'm stuck with a car that will eventually go out from under the additional warranty I was given because of all the issues? I have literally lost all faith that I can have a vehicle that isn't going to one day leave me by the side of the road. Michelle, I am with you, I have 34K on my car as well. It's never been right. The dealership is happy to give me a discount on the car I trade it in on.
