Began work rehabbing the axles. Got the front one done and on. Rear is in place with the drivers side in and sealed. Passenger side needs to be "pressed in?" And sealed. Main cover needs RTV and bolting. Have a pinion seal to replace but unsure if I should try to open that with no tools like a yoke wrench to get it off.

We dug into the transmission as well. Broke the speedo cover because I'm dumb. Overpaid for a replacement but now I need to take apart another transmission to get it. Yesterday, I made a huge breakthrough in getting the overdrive out. Now I have completely dismantled transmission and transfer case. I am not sure which gears are good but I already have a main shave and another part in hand plus the rebuild kit from crown. I am going to try to get the rear axle together to get this jeep on the ground so I can focus solely on the transmission now.

Last night I was able to dismantle the spare transfer case and liberated the replacement speedo cap that I broke on the other. It is intact and looking good. Just watched an axle video and it appears I need to procure a dial indicator to insure I have 6,000th of an inch in play via shims before I lock town the axle. I am slightly concerned that the guy that left me high an dry didn't check this and already locked in the other side with rtv and called it good. Hoping I don't have to strip off the other hub and start all over as I really want to get this jeep on the ground so i can roll it around and get some room in the shop to rebuild the transmission and get other parts laid out for install.
