Another project just leap-frogged the EVO project as it had to be installed first. I selected the S-Tech 6-switch system for the following reasons:
    • S-Tech switch pod mounts directly into the plastic trim above the mirror. Other competitive units mount onto the footman loop with brackets and tape which can reduce access to the hard top latches and most have an open area on top of the unit
    • Made-in-USA
    • 3 yr warranty
    • OEM look and style
    • Custom rockers available
    • Power control module box is smaller than competitive units
    • Will re-purpose the other Bussman relay pod onto my Tundra

EVO sport cage installation completed @ midnight before the AOAA trail adventure. It was challenging to install but I love how it hugs the A-pillars and keeps the view wide open.

That looks really nice. Can you show us more pics down the side of the dash and to floor if it goes that far down, and close ups of the windshield pillars. Oh and show us videos of how well it performs in a rollover pretty please with sugar on the bottom side up.

LOL...The Poison Spider sport cage might be the only "bolt-on" cage that reaches the floor. The P.S. cage is a nice alternative cage that might be a bit more challenging to install and it will intrude upon interior floor space of the DD. Since none of the sport cages actually attach to the frame I think the safety benefit from any of these sport cages should be sufficient in low-speed rollovers short of rolling down a mountain side.
The EVO and RH sport cages both attach to the same thick weld seam in the door sill and run all the way to the top of the windshield frame.

This is an old debate. Weld in cages are only as good as the weakest weld. I have seen bolt in cages take abuse that other weld in cages did not hold up to, and visa versa. These sport cages tie into the main support of the body between the firewall and dash. That is where all the strength of the body is. They will hold up to a pretty rough roll over. RH has floor mounts for added cost that tie into their sport cage. Although my buddies 6Xrollover down the mountain did not have the floor mounts. Any cage is better than no cage though.

OEM head light + fog light upgrade to JW Speaker LED. Pretty simple install with no snags. Cable ties, electrical tape and protective wire wraps to keep the wires safe and secure.

One of my favorite upgrades too. What a difference over crap stock lights.

My QT Tuffy order arrived today and in 5 minutes I finally had some trunk security. Perfect for my laptop or man purse.

Installed a set of KC Cyclone 2-light Under Hood lights. Ran the wires through the hood reinforcement beams. KC lights come with everything you need: protective wire wrap, wire harness and switch. Made one change to the instructions by using rivet nutserts to bolt the lights onto the hood. Anyone attempting this step take extra precautions not to drill through the hood otherwise FUBAR 4 sure. B1CEC225-AB33-48DE-8063-CFB90F50C330.jpg

BZ working on another project vehicle but I got something for the JK: OEM style Quadratec LED tail lights. Goal was to have instant-on red tail lights for added safety. QT was having a 10% day and LOML won’t notice another Jeep purchase LOL D635C6B1-8BF7-4087-AFE5-0E16000338F6.jpg 3EAF338D-DD12-40E8-81D0-677A435362B0.jpg 5E4D78D2-C756-40B4-A6A3-696EDA31860F.jpg 83369C6C-F632-42B2-8CAC-8A09D8801AFE.jpg The reverse bulb is a regular 3157 but I have plans for some auxiliary LED backup lights. Simple to install with no hyper flash issues with the built in resistor. The plug and play QT was super ez to install and included the resistors needed to eliminate hyper flash or other issues since the JK uses one bulb for tail, brake and turn. Took more time to clean off the dust and debris than to install the tail lights. One big tip: do NOT try to over-tighten the mounting screws and the inner pair of screws are different than the other pair.

image_1941.jpg Added a little bit of trim that might have a benefit against a tree branch. Replaced the 3157 bulb with a LED 3157 and its much brighter.

My KC Pro 6 LED lights arrived after being on back order replacing the old 1990s Delta Halogen lights. KC had a 10% off sale in December plus bonus coffee. Installation was simple hooking up to the STech switch box. Amber covers will be good for fog or during snow conditions.
