I just brought home my new limited Grand Cherokee after previously owning an Overland. The Overland was a 2015 model and had to have a new transmission, lifters, and struts. All of that, coupled with our dislike of the suspension we were hesitant to keep it beyond the extended warranty.

Now, having experience with safety features on the 2015 GC, this new 2020 limited seems to be lacking in sensitivity with cross traffic, backup and side collision alerting. Regardless of the other problems the 2015 Overland had, it had excellent safety features.

Has there been many problems with the these systems? I have an appointment to get them looked at but based on the feedback I have received on a couple of other small issues, I think I am going to hear all is well. They do beep sometimes but I know what they are supposed to do.

    Thanks

I have 2 friends that bought new Jeeps in 2019. Both have had service troubles with their Jeep’s electronics and the dealer service on them. I have had 2 Jeeps prior to my XJ and never once had to return to the dealer for repairs. I fear that FIAT is going to ruin the reputation of Jeep and make it a joke vehicle similar to Yugo.

Well you don't have to worry about FIAT screwing it up alone anymore. The braintrusts added the French automaker Groupe PSA (peugeot) under the tag: Stellantis to mix things up even more. Hang on to your XJ.

I had an appointment this morning at 9 to replace a minor cosmetic flaw on on the window sealing but after arriving I found out the part isn't in. Last week I got the standard response on my safety features concerns, "we couldn't find anything wrong".
