    Hi,

I need advice on new tires.

    The vehicle:
    • 2016 Jeep Patriot Sport

    Road conditions:
    • I live in western Washington state
    • I don't do a ton of off-road driving, but we do get some pretty decent snow.
    • Sometimes the snow melts, then freezes in the evening, creating slick conditions.
    • We typically only get serious snow 2-3 weeks a year if we're lucky, but my Jeep is our main snow vehicle, so I want to be prepared.
    • I'm not looking for true winter tires, just some tires that will hold their own in the snow.

    Tire options:
    • Open Range AT
    • Back Country AT

I’ve been told they both do well in the snow and through the rest of the year as well.

However, I've read that AT tires don't always do well in snow. These have the mountain snowflake though, so they are at least rated below 45 degrees.

Do these seem like good options, or should I be looking for something else?

    Thanks!

You might look at Falken Wildpeak AT3w tires as well, they are also mountain snowflake rated and seem to have rave snow reviews.
I run them and was not as impressed with their winter handling but it may have been due to the ice we got in addition to the snow during the only winter weather we have had since I have run these tires.

Agreed. Consider the Falken AT3 or for something a bit milder but still AT the Yokohama Geolander G015
