Promised myself 40 years ago that I would have an 80 CJ one day

    350 small block, 4" BDS lift, 35" Cooper ProMaxx, interior and paint custom design and mix-matched. Real happy with how the interior is coming together.
    Got it in March and it is coming together.

    I am not sure that I understand the question. I love the simplicity and utility of jeeps in general. I will do some light trail cruising, but I mainly want to ride in the wind when the weather is nice.

    If you are asking about my fascination with a 1980 CJ specifically, that is a good question. I was 10 when and I saw a brand new CJ7. It was 1980. It just looked like freedom, and that was a tough time in my life. My parents were divorcing, we were in bankruptcy, and we were moving to find work. I promised myself that I would have a 1980 CJ7 one day, and that was that.

    I actually forgot about that promise when I started looking to buy a Jeep this year. I just wanted an older jeep to refurbish in my vision, and I got a pretty good buy on this Jeep that had good bones. After I bought the jeep I remembered that promise to myself that I had forgotten.
