Hey mates how's it going. I am seriously thinking about buying a manual Sahara YJ, between the years of 1992 and 1995 and I was wondering what I need to be on the look out for. I heard rust is a pretty big issue on these vehicles. Also, how much is too much for one? I've found some in other states but I will limit my options to Oregon and Washington so I can at least drive it and not waste too much time if it isn't the one.

You might've guessed that this is because of Jurassic Park, and it is. I doubt I would make it a Jurassic Jeep but I've wanted to own this Jeep since I was a kid first watching the movie. That and I want something I can off road with, something I miss doing ever since I got rid of my 3rd gen Tacoma.

    Cheers.

Welcome @Azza ...good on you to try saving another "square". The YJs are close brothers to the CJs and if you can find a stock YJ 6 cyl preferably that should be a keeper. At nearly 30 yrs old be sure to check everything especially the frame for rust before moving upwards. Good luck and post what you take home.

Thanks. Yeah that is why I want to try and find one close by, so I can drive it and check it out and most likely have a shop do a pre-purchase inspection. Hopefully I don't have to wait too long and I will definitely post a million pictures when I get one. :)

Oh and I love the square headlights haha even though most prefer the round ones (so I am told)

This thread reminds me of my long lost YJ when I lost my mind and traded her in for a 2WD pickup :(A37519E7-1BDC-4CF4-9137-43C7500B97A9.jpg
