Hey I’m new here. I got a 1995 jeep yj 4.0 Was my grandparents they bought it new off the lot. The problem is when I am accelerating like say on the highway, their seems to be a point where if you push the pedal down the car will squeal, sounds like from under the drivers seat. It seems that I can let off the pedal it will stop or accelerate a little then it will stop. it is loud as hell. Not sure if it’s the angry sparrows. It seems to be intermittently happening. Can’t duplicate it when revved only moving it seems to happen at higher speed somewhat 30-55. I can just drive easier and not go past that point and it won’t do the noise. Sorry for all the info just trying to give you more knowledgeable folk about this problem

Welcome @95stockeryj ...drive belts tend to squeal and may vary at speed as well as failing or empty PS system. Let us know what you find out.:unhappycat:

Well I guess it could be a belt but a cat sounds similar o_O

Is it a straight shift? If so, it cold be a throw out bearing. Next time it squeals ease you foot on to the clutch and see if it stops.
