Difference in engine wiring harness?

    white 03 grand cherokee
    03 grand cherokee laredo engine wiring harness i have found 3 wiring harnesses but all 3 are W in the 5th letter of the vin#. Mine is an X. What is the difference?

    Welcome @parrishpd8015 ...options and accessories can change even within a build year so check with Jeep parts department for definitive answer to your question on the wiring harness. It could turn out to be an unused connection in your JGC

    W=4wd, X=2wd
    I imagine the engine harness should be same/similar since the main difference between the W and X is further down the drivetrain, given they both have the same engine.
    And while I can't confirm for sure if the harness is anything like the older Jeep harnesses even if it doesn't have a particular accessory it may still be wired for it.

    Whenever I have to go for dealer parts it helps to have the vin number written down on a separate piece of paper to hand to the parts guy. Also at the auto parts stores. Buying parts using the make, model, and year is no more.
