I let my girlfriend drive my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee to work the other day because the weather was bad and she owns a Nissan Sentra.. last night I had to go get her because she said there was a slamming coming from under the drivers seat and every now and then it sounded like she was riding the rumble strip on the side of the highway but she wasn’t. Anyways. What is this that’s supposed to be connected but isn’t. Also putting it in drive and reverse makes that piece with the shiny bit on it slide forward and back..

    Do you have a lift?
The driveshafts typically don't fall out of the transfer case on stock Jeeps.
