Trouble starting 2000 Wrangler

    Helping a friend trying to get Jeep started...after she got gas Jeep wouldn't start...turned key nothing.. attendees helped bump start...got back to house...seemed like key wouldn't turn all the way...she changed out tumbler with out me present,said did same thing....I noticed a loose wire on starter... fixed...still nothing...bumped starter...Jeep turned over...humm not starter..took clutch position switch..jumped that nothing...had another mechanic friend check wiring....first no spark..when jumping from under hood fuse/relay panel..don't really want to chase wires for a week....any help will be appreciated....thanks dan

    Ensure there are good ground connections, i.e.:motor to frame. Might look at the solenoid too

    Yeah went over all grounds... solenoid on starter seems to be ok..

    It could be the ignition switch which is separate from the ignition lock cylinder. It is located under the front part of the steering column (black box, top center of pic).

    Perhaps this thread will help as well, though it's for an XJ they are the same vintage and quite similar.
