I'm in desperate need of assistance finding a replacement connecting wire for my electric reverse light switch. A hole in my exhaust burned through the transmission wiring harness to my electric reverse light switch. I can't start my jeep without this wire. It's a 6 pin to a 2 pin. I've tried my local part stores, dealerships, and the local junk yards have no YJ's scrapped. I also can't find any 6 pin connectors (both male and female) that I can splice in instead.
Any assistance on where to purchase a replacement is greatly appreciated!

Try an auto parts store or even an outfit like pep boys. Even an online search can come up with something. A better bet would be to bypass the plug with a direct connection, as plugs do loose current as electricity passes through them. If you do need a plug in a particular location, you can just add in a different plug that will take the current applied. There are also electrical parts houses that supply all the stuff needed to build a circut.

Check the salvage yards for a Jeep Cherokee XJ of similar vintage, you may get lucky and find one with a 5 speed (4.0 liter) trans. You might look for at the Dodge Dakotas too as some also came with the AX15 trans.
If it comes down to it as Donald said above, by pass the plug (connecting the right wires so the Jeep thinks the switch is there) and wire up an actual toggle switch for the reverse lights (or add your own reverse lights).

    Converting to 91 4.0L 5-spd. Bought a wrecked 91 Saraha 65k miles.
Try dead jeep.com. I needed a 91 Dash harness for a 4.0 L and they had one for me so search there also, is my suggestion.
