My defrost doesn't work and my windshield and every other window fogs up when it's cold outside or raining, it makes it very hard for me to see. I know my AC is not hooked up, and as far as I know, my blower motor doesn't work to blow heat if I reattach my heater core hoses to the right places... But does my heater or AC have anything to do with defrost/defog ? How do I check my blower motor?

With a non-functioning a/c system there will be no effective defroster action. This is why I installed a new Denso compressor this summer in a 22 year old Toyota (personal goal 300k). Besides the nice cold a/c in the summer defrosting the fogged up windshield is very important for safe winter driving.
