Interesting, haven't seen lifts noted in ranges, shocks yet but lifts no. Must be a new thing since I haven't look for a lift in awhile.

I called and they said it was the difference between a JK and a JKU. Well, what the hell to do now. I'm going to have to use a spacer to get 4 inches no matter what. Its all 3.5 for the JKU's. Though I could use this as an opportunity to just get coils and sell the spacers, but now I need coils and I have to get new 1/2 inch spacers to make 4 inch lift. Oh well....

Hell no... you are going to get new coils and install them...take measurements and then install the spacers! This thread has to have an answer! :D

Your springs don't look all that bad in the pictures.

I purchased a complete 2.5" lift kit since I didn't have time to deal with variables. All the lift kit components were designed to work together like front+rear springs, shock length, end links, adjustable track bars, etc. Some users stated the kit compensated for heavy bumpers and armor while others stated greater than 2.5" without the heavy bumpers and winch. Mine is currently unboxed and awaiting DIY installation this summer. My recommendation is buy a 3.5" lift kit and pass on the spacers.
The picture in post#1 doesn't look too rusty. TF springs although imported are supposed to have a good reputation. If the springs have decayed how are the spring buckets or seats?

Thanks, they aren't really that bad overall, but on the axle side they have decayed and chipped. I guess the pics I had probably didn't reflect that well.

Just the end of the coils are eroded. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment but I will likely just go with the 4 inch coils from Teraflex again and take my chances. Already have TF shocks, and at least Teraflex offers a 4 inch coil, unlike some of the others that just offer 3.5 or 4.5.
