have a 2008 stock Jeep Wrangler unlimited .. have chance to buy some 17x9 aftermarket wheels.. help

    2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
    I have stock 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited.. have chance buy some aftermarket wheels that are 17x9. not even sure what my stock size is without measuring em. like to make the jeep look beefier etc.. could lift a little if needed.. got a good price in these wheels, are they much diff in size over stock? would they improve the looks on jeep? make it wider,etc? would I need to lift it any? any help greatly appreciated

    Howell fuel injection, header, HEI distributor, TH350, NP208, SOA lift with YJ springs in the front & GW springs in the Rear. AMC20 with G2 1 piece chromos trussed, Dana 30 with G2 chromos and 760x ujoints and MM Stainless Hubs, Geared 4.56. Tom Woods shafts, Metal cloaks, Caged, 37" Toyo MTs.
    I believe you can run 33x12.50x17 tires without lifting. Nice wheels.

    any idea what kinda wheels these are? she don't have a lot of info on em, she bought em for a truck which whole pattern is off, they camp off a jeep.. is there suppose to be a center cap? she don't have it with them if its suppose have one?

    They look like an old V-tech or Moto Metal rim. There would be some press on caps for them I think.

    2.5" AEV Dual Sport lift, 35" Treadwright Guard Dogs, Black Rock Wheels, AEV Front & Rear Bumpers with Tire Carrier, Fuel Caddy 10 gal. Aux. fuel tank, Warn 9.5ti, 125' synthetic winch line, front axle skid, 20" LED light bar , Bilstein Shocks, steel steering skidplate,
    Stock wheels, depending on trim package are 16, 17, or 18″ diameter, 7-7.5″ width. You need to find out or measure the backspace on the rims.
    That (17x9) is a common size for folks going to larger tires. With a backspace of 5.2" to 4.5" you can run 35's if the rig is lifted at least 2 inches.

    You can run 33s on stock rims with just a touch of rub at full turn so if the backspace it right...you will certainly have no issue running them on these rims.
