No leaks and lost 1 quart in 5000 miles. Is this normal?

Not much info to go on? You tow with it? What weight oil you using now? Is this every 5000 miles are just start it? How many miles on engine? An 05 IMHO thats really not that excessive between oil changes. Check to see if its smoking at all and look in your air box for oil. If there all good I wouldn't worry about it.

121000 miles on it. No towing but a ton of driving. Just started doing it this last oil change. I've been using 5w 30 synthetic blend. Not smoking only normal times in the morning. But it has been cold where I'm at. I don't know if it'll make a difference

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it then. With no leaks and no smoke I really think your fine. Again I really don't think 1 quart is all that bad at all every 5000 miles. I have seen newer vehicles with less miles burn that much. That's just my opinion. You could call a dealer or mechanic and just get there opinion to ease your mind, but I'm pretty sure they will tell ya the same thing. Hope this helps?

Alright thanks. At ease now. Been looking for forums for it and found a few that have said the same thing. Thanks. And all in all I believe it's about time for an oil change anyway.

All cars burn off a little oil during use. My truck since new, and every car I have had has always burned almost a court every oil change at 5000 miles. I wouldn't worry about it, and I consider it normal.
