I have a 2015 JKU and want to give her some protection. Has any done or seen any diy/homemade skids. I would love to see pics and any info/dimensions would be very helpful.

Well looks like I am getting after it with some cardboard to mock this up. I will post pics and dimensions once I get it how I like.

I did the same for mine with a sheet of aluminum. I am hoping I can salvage some of the alum for this one

My first choice for protection was the oil pan/trans skid plate as both areas are fairly vulnerable. Northridge 4x4 had some great deals and maybe they will be back for xmas. Some of the lesser known brands of oil pan skid plates are sub 150-200. My oil pan/trans skid plate bridges between the cross member up to the oil pan. Just make sure you design it so no other components make contact, i.e.: exhaust or drive shaft, etc. A well designed DIY skid plate is better than no skid plate.

I think I am just going to buy some protection. I have been busy due to holiday season and hunting seasons but it looks like more than I am going to be able to do in my garage.

Make it tall enough not to have to worry about it. 4 in lift and 40s should do it.
