This is a weird one. Suddenly about a week ago, the front windshield wipers came on, and will not turn off. The washer does not work, the rear wiper/washer does not work, they stay on only at one speed and cannot change speed. I tired replacing the multifunction wiper switch and there is no change. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like a TIPM issue, might want to talk with jeep.

Do not think there is a recall BUT ask and google "2011 wrangler TIPM issues" for more info

Thanks for your response. Now the turn signals do not work. I have researched more, and agree that is probably the TIPM. There is no recall (yet), but evidently this is turning out to be a common problem. Just FYI, I did not even check with the dealer, but an independent shop quoted me $900 for the module and $600 to install. I ordered a new one on eBay for $260. (Fingers crossed, seller is rated very good.)

I agree it is a bit of a gamble, but if it pays off, I will have saved a ton of cash. And the ad on eBay states new, not rebuilt or refurbished, so I am fairly confident. We'll see how it goes in few days.

This is a follow-up to the TIPM issue, as requested. The eBay seller was uspau-stqxi3, located in Toledo, Ohio. The TIPM I purchased from him was delivered on time, and appeared to be brand new. It looked identical to the unit in my Jeep, but was a different part number. I also noticed that there were 3 fewer fuses and one fewer relay in the new unit. The seller had assured me before the purchase that his unit would work in all Jeep Wranglers from 2007 to 2017. The installation was very quick and easy, as shown on a few YouTube videos. One factor that was not mentioned on the videos that I saw, was that after installation, you must turn the ignition to "On" for about 12 seconds prior to actually starting the engine to reset the TIPM. Anyhow, the new unit solved most of my issues, but also introduced 2 new ones. So now the airbag warning light is constantly on, so I don't know if there is an airbag, or warning light problem. The other one is more entertaining. Evidently the new TIPM reversed the front fog lights and turn signals. So now when I activate the turn signal, the fog light blinks. Rear turn signals work fine. The other original problem of not being able to dim the dashboard lights and turn on the dome light from the turn signal stalk still persists. I have emailed the seller twice, asking politely if he had any idea how to solve the problems, and he has not responded. I did not threaten him, use strong language or ask for a refund. Just asked for help. I am disappointed that he has not responded and will follow that up with eBay. I hope this is helpful and would like to hear of any advice or other TIPM experiences.

Awesome the TIPM was your issue. And I have to apologize. But the issue it caused with your turn signals and fog lights is kinda humorous. But hey.....at least you use your turn signals. Alot of people in my experiences. Don't even realize they have them in their vehicles. And leave it up to us "other" drivers to guess where their turning. Loll...

Post up your fix dude. Might help others in the future.

There are at least a couple of good YouTube videos on this repair. I really could not add anything to them. Except the advice to turn ignition to "On" for about 12 seconds before starting the engine to reset the TIPM. The videos are good.
