Good Morning, I am new on this forum and this is my first thread.
My oil pressure gauge periodically quits registering for a few seconds, causing the check gauges light to come on. This only lasts for a few seconds and the gauge returns to a normal read, but it has been happening more frequently over the last week or so.

Welcome @Missourijeep ! Just a few simple things to look at before suspecting other major components (oil level confirmed, correct oil weight, clogged filter, correct filter, etc) then post CEL codes scan.

The oil pressure sender unit could be faulty. Replacement with an OEM part preferably. During this period of zero pressure + CEL are there any noises indicative of insufficient lubrication? The warning signs are very important and if this is beyond your capabilities an auto mechanic should be consulted for an oil pressure check.

No noise, the events last only a second or two. Thanks for the post.

Could be a frayed wire from the sending unit at its most accessible location, under the hood. Something to check first.
