I got a 97 wrangler and I was wondering what I would have to change to put a 3 in lift on it.

This is a loaded question. Most kits come with everything you need to do the lift. Some come with more parts than others one of the reasons for varying costs between lifts. TJs have very short control arms and the 3in lift will make it rougher riding. The Long arm kit is more expensive and a more involved install, but brings the comfort back to the ride.

The only 2 kits I will install on my coil sprung jeeps are Metal Cloak (MC) and Teraflex (TF) with MC being my first choice. Both offer short and long arm kits in various heights. Once you lift your jeep you may notice a vibration especially on acceleration. If this happens the cheap fix is to install a transfer case drop kit. The correct way to fix it is to install a SYE kit.

Metal cloak long arm kits start at 4.5in of lift
