98 zj to 94zj ignition coil difference

    can I use a 94zj ignition coil on my 98zj by changing the ignition coil pig tail.

    I bet it would, as long as you are good with a soldering iron. I have done similar a time or two on my XJs. Keep the old pig tail as you can always go back to it if you need to.

    I'm using an msd model 8228 coil on it now and it has to have an accel adapter ,because the msd coil uses the 94 type connector.so I think that if the msd coil works on a 92 to 98 models they have to be similar enough from factory to work.

    rewire, look at part specs all for a 30$ part Give Me A F'in break....

    sorry Awrench maybe I should of explained a little more my 98 coil harness plug is broke i cant buy a new one.not made any more.i cant find a used one in any pic apart junk yard any where.i do have one from a 94 plus coil.so I need to know if I can swap it and get it running again.sorry if I caused you any F'in pain or discomforts.

    well it seems some one on another forum has located just what I need (standard motor products s2317) .
