I would check out the new offering from Quadratec. Might offer the best value with lots of features. Has a decent warranty and QT is a reputable company.

Thanks Aggrex! Will add it to my list of potentials when comparing for purchase!

I was looking at this one below this past week. Anyone have any pros/cons about it? Reviews are great on Amazon. Also, which type of rope/cable would be best for use as well?

IMO if the budget allows consider synthetic rope. Safer should any mishaps occur.

Winches are just about the only part that I have a very strong opinion on.

Most parts are just personal preference and don’t see an issue with running whatever you want, with the exception of a winch. I would never run anything but a warn. They are built it America vs China like most others. When youre stuck, you really don’t want your winch to fail.

Some of us don't or won't ever have a warn budget though. Should we just go without? I'm not trying to be a smartass either

Definitely spoken from experience as the Warn winch is no doubt probably top tier if not the best winch brand but if jeep dollars are limited the perceived value and realistic usage of the winch becomes part of the equation. For example I don't carry Ryobi power tools to the construction site but I have some as lenders. Ryobi quality has really stepped up its game and is much better than years ago so they can be found on smaller jobs..inexpensive and disposable....LOL.
