Curious if anyone has installed an aftermarket radio. The Jeep stock radio has two clips for the antenna, whereas most aftermarket radios call for a long cylinder metal plug (as they have for years). Not sure how to marry those two. Most stock radios still have that metal cylinder you stick in the opening of an aftermarket radio.

I know, always a headache. I dont have steering wheel controls, back up camera, or navigation in my stock radio and i wont have it in my new one either, so i think my future install will be a bit more simplified than most peoples.

crutchfield.com should be a good source for information on your basic antenna question. They specialize in adapting aftermarket radios purchased from them to your vehicle with templates, trim plates, adapters, support, etc.
