Looking for suggestions for a direct replacement or good substitute for the male plastic fastener used on the liftgate handle for a 2006 Grand Cherokee (this same fastener is likely used on lots of other models too). My fastener is broken but I don't need a whole new handle (Part 5HU81ARJAE, $150!). The dealer said they don't stock just the fasteners. See photos with red arrow pointing the the fastener I'm talking about. Thanks.

Welcome! Plastic clips hold many different parts on modern vehicles even Jeeps. Like them or not they work, won't rust, or corrode but they tend to break during a repair or inspection. I bought the 500 pc variety set of automotive plastic clips from Amazon. I may never use them all or need them all but several types have been a lifesaver for different vehicles when a plastic clip breaks. I'm not sure which fastener works for your liftgate handle but perhaps one of them might do the trick. I doubt that plastic clips alone secure the liftgate handle as I see some bolts. The plastic clips probably secure the rest of the liftgate trim panel.
