    I have a 2001 wangler 4.0 liter . It dies when it is cold with the brakes on , what should I do or look for ?

    Can you try to get codes, ideally a scanner is suggested, you could try the key trick*
    If its drivable FREE scans at most auto part stores - FREE fast easy....
    Post all codes.

    FYI there is a year where this will not work and 2001 is right around that window - not sure though

    Welcome! With the codes the diagnosis and resolution can be more accurate. In the interim perhaps some additional details about the troubling issues would be helpful besides when the brakes are applied such as how long the problem been occurring or recent mods or new parts installed.
