Welp.... didn't make it to this weekend. Had the other caliper lock up on me on my way home. Made it home and changed them this morning.
Adjusted the rear brakes and the parking brake while I was at it and installed a seat belt buckle so I have a working seatbelt again.

That's a commendable weekend project to tackle. Internal slave better last long time.

Nothing today, but went wheeling over the weekend, we went to Appalachian Toyota Roundup at Windrock ORV and I decided to take my Jeep :)

Getting this thing closer to being done. Hopefully these shocks will make it seem like a caddie

Looks like I have too much play in the thrust bearing so I pulled the engine back out.

I could have done it with the engine in the Jeep but with the supports holding the trans/tcase up I have to crawl in from near the rear axle and with the exhaust hanging down and laying in the dirt it would be easier and cleaner to just pull the engine. Without the trans/tcase attached it comes out much easier. :D

Replaced the rod bearings, main bearings look great and spec'd fine with plastigage. Replaced the rear main.
Still waiting on the thrust bearing from Quadratec.

Thrust bearing installed and now crank end play is within spec :bananadance: also installed the new oil pump.
Ran out of time due to more rain moving in. Just need to get oil pan and gasket on and stab that sucker back in.

    Welcome Papa J.
The power for the headlights runs through the switch, a bad design.
Anything electrical that draws that much current should run off a relay.
A relay headlight harness will fix that and consequently make the stock headlights brighter as it will pull power directly from the battery vs many feet of small gauge wire.
The LED headlights should help but if you are still concerned the harness is a great upgrade.
The 36-3580 harness from LMC truck should work for you. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=106

You may notice that the LED headlights glow dimly when the vehicle is on but the headlight switch is off, this is because there is still 7.72 volts going to the headlights and the lights lacking the a high enough resistance. Some are canbus compatible and have resistors built in, some don't. In a vehicle that uses canbus the lack of load in the light can make the system think the bulb is out, this isn't an issue on the XJs but may be on newer Jeeps.
To remedy the glow you can either put a resistor inline with each headlight or install a relay headlight harness.

Saturday I got the engine back between the "frame rails".
Sunday I got the transmission mated to the engine, everything hooked back up and running.
Drove it to work this morning.
So far the slave cylinder has not puked which is what caused all of this so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Installed a 136 amp alternator from a ZJ, re-tightened all the suspension fasteners, and did a 500 mile oil change.

I put new bearings in it, so I went through the break-in process.
